Proximity Bias with Brian Mohr

As the world returns to work, a term has caught my attention: proximity bias 🚩🚩🚩

It’s a concept that those employees returning to the office are treated better than those who continue to work remotely. So my question is, how do we replicate the employee experience for distributed teams to build deeper connections and relationships in a virtual world?

Here to talk about his transformative work is Brian Mohr, Cofounder and CEO of Anthym, a one-of-a-kind team connection & trust-building platform designed for remote, distributed, and hybrid teams.

“Our life experiences are like a unique mixtape with a variety of soundtracks that shape who we are. Sad and tragic songs, happy, upbeat songs etc... Anthym uses this media to help catalog important moments which help teammates connect with each other."

Relationships are the foundation of all accomplishments. The stronger they are, the better the business results will be, and the closer we get to making work more human. There’s just no downside to focusing on the “soft skills.”

People, let’s connect the dots of an employee’s unique work styles and experiences to the value they generate for the company, not where they are located.

We already have enough bias in the workplace, let’s not create another based on proximity.
