Hello Podcast Guests & Future Guests!

When we first decided to launch the Humanly Possible: Future of Work Conversations podcast, it was right in the middle of a pandemic (October 2020), and I had a burning need to use my platform, my knowledge, and my network to have transformative discussions around the world of work. The world of work continues to change, and the podcast has reached more than 50 countries with more than 50 inspiring guests (You all inspire me every single day). And we now have a following of listeners who are in positions to address and inspire transformative conversations around how work and business can be a catalyst for social impact.

We’ve covered topics around wellness, justice, anti-racism, psychological safety, equity, inclusion leadership, and sustainable culture building, and it’s become clear to me that we’re no longer talking about the future of work. The future of work is here, and we must shift the conversation to action and accountability.

So, I have some news – we’ve decided to shift the focus and name of the podcast. Here’s why:

This shift has been on my mind for a while. It’s been happening slowly and represents how I view my platform and impact on this work. I believe the workplace needs to be talked about as a system that creates a ripple effect into entire lives, generations, and communities. We envision a world in which companies exist to better employee experience, not just customer experience because we believe that human-centered workplaces create stronger communities and societies.  A new and refined premise of this podcast is that when you adopt the social responsibility of creating employees that go home happy and create impact in their communities, better outcomes are created — at every level.

It all comes down to this. The name of the podcast: "Humanly Possible – Future of Work Conversations Podcast" will be changing to "Social Responsibility at Work", because we hold the belief that the Best Workplaces of today and tomorrow will fundamentally change hearts and minds about what work means, challenge-tired leadership paradigms, and view their platforms as responsible, conscious, and sustainable vehicles to create social impact. AT WORK in this context means, of course, that we will talk about social responsibility in the world of work but also signifies the action, the accountability and the solutions that we’ll provide that listeners can actively put TO WORK within their sphere of influence.

So, what can you expect moving forward? The podcast is known to be real, conversational, and actionable. For those of you who have been on my podcast, you know that I don’t prep guests in any formal way before our conversation and I describe the experience as similar to conversations over coffee. In my experience, this has been an intentional differentiation that makes these discussions so much more human and relatable.  We’ll be focused more narrowly on bringing in diverse and emerging thought-leaders in the areas of conscious business and sustainable leadership practices. Specifically, we’ll be seeking out experts and changemakers that can point to solutions that will reframe our thinking, actions, and behaviors. If you know anyone who fits that description, let me know!
